Mr. Gensheimer is a founding principal of Grand Harbour. Based in Tokyo he is responsible for the strategic direction of the firm and oversees capital transactions, asset management and client advisory activities.

Prior to founding Grand Harbour Mr. Gensheimer was a representative director at Barings where he was responsible for overall real estate business development in Asia, including investor coverage in all major markets in region and developing the investment management platform. Prior to joining Barings in 2012, Mr. Gensheimer was a director at Savills in its Asia Pacific Corporate Finance Advisory group. Mr. Gensheimer’s experience includes over ten years of commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions in Japan working for real estate private equity and advisory firms. He also worked in Sanwa Bank’s (The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd) M&A Group in New York advising corporate clients on overseas real estate acquisitions and dispositions including commercial, residential, hospitality and development properties. Mr. Gensheimer earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.

Mr. Hayes is a founder and principal of Grand Harbour responsible for the development of the firm’s investment management platform and financial advisory activities.

Prior to Grand Harbour Mr. Hayes was a representative director for Barings where he established and developed the real estate investment management business in the Asia Pacific region. Before joining Barings in 2012, Mr. Hayes was a director with the Savills Asia Pacific Corporate Finance Advisory group providing investment banking services to institutional clients. Mr. Hayes served ten years with Citigroup’s Capital Markets and Banking division where he was a banker in New York involved in corporate finance transactions and in Tokyo where he established Citigroup’s commercial real estate lending business. His real estate private equity and banking experience has encompassed a variety of equity and debt capital market transaction roles including structured finance, M&A advisory, corporate and non-recourse lending, syndicated lending and securitization, business development and investment management. Mr. Hayes has a B.A. in Economics and earned his MBA from the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
